Today's Stats:
Breakfast
Obviously, today's CBC won't be fasting. I'll be doing her hair, shortly. That will allow her breakfast to settle for a couple of hours before her blood is drawn. She was very hard to get up but I didn't give up, today. Her color looks good but, in the bathroom light, I wondered if I was seeing red over white, rather than red over peach. I guess the blood draw will tell us.
Lunch
We got out, for her blood draw, and were rewarded with yet another bowel accident. Nothing abnormal...just her body letting her know she hasn't been moving enough so it's just going to go ahead and do what it has to do. As a result, she stayed in the car while I quickly got the three items we needed at the grocery. If she wants to take a nap, which she probably will, shortly, I'll let her, but I'll keep her from sleeping all afternoon and into the evening. I told her on the way home from the grocery that, little by little, we need to get her out, again. Today it was in the wheelchair. Probably tomorrow, too, although this evening I think we'll practice with the walker, and keep doing that on a daily basis until she's comfortable moving around away from home. Tomorrow we have an excuse to get out, to get the results of her blood draw, and a few supplies to pick up at Costco. We need to get in touch with a physical therapist, too. She is not excited about the ambulation and strength training...she's expecting it to be "hard". Somehow, I think, though, it'll actually make things easier for her, in the long run. I don't think she realizes how much energy she could generate within herself, if she began moving. I'm hohping we both have a few pleasant surprises in store.
Dinner
No lisinopril tonight. I don't want her blood pressure to go any lower, tonight, than it will from simply resting.
Ah, I was right. She just mentioned that she thinks she'd "kind of like something sweet, like a cup of cocoa or something." So, I'm making her a cup of Chocolate mint cocoa. Depending on how much she drinks from the cup, I may give her yet another 212.5 mg metformin while she's drinking the cocoa. I'll mention this here, if I do.
