The stats are in...

...and I remembered less than I thought I would, but, it's been awhile, seems like a long while, and we're in a completely different place in regard to her health care, now. I am looking forward more than backward, although I'm glad I recorded her blood pressure stats through those particularly significant days when she was mini-stroking, so I have a reference point in case we have another mysterious "TIA" occurrence.
I have been, on and off, requesting BP and BG stats at the hospital and the SNF. Her blood pressure is back to her normal. The last reading I was privy to, yesterday afternoon, for blood pressure, was 116/48, very normal for her. Her last blood glucose I remember was the morning one, 136. Very nice, now that I have new parameters.
My medication plan, when she returns home, is to ecstatically go along with the doctors and use only glipizide, twice a day, administered halfway through her morning and evening meal. I'll probably watch her diet at least as carefully, if not more so, to make sure we can control her blood glucose with glipizide and cinnamon. I'm going to check into buying and soaking nopal pads, too, and see how the nopal water works, and try to find an aloe vera 80% gel juice without any sugar in it. If I have some trouble keeping her blood glucose below 200, I'll try giving glipizide to her 3 times a day, even though the research suggests that over 20 mg per day doesn't do much. It might, under these circumstances.
The statistician in me can't wait for her to arrive home so that I can, once again, collect and analyze stats in connection with what she eats, what remedies she takes and how she does, cranially and make decisions on her medicine administration. I'm excited to see what more we can learn about how to manage her body through these Ancient years of hers.
