Little by little I'm getting her up earlier. She ate breakfast an hour earlier than has been normal, today.
We've been receiving a variety of food laden gift packages from people over the last few days. Everyone's been very careful about what they send, which is wonderful; and, the arrival of food, today, whetted Mom's holiday appetite. At 1440 she decided she was hungry. So, I fed her 7 olives, she drank about a quarter of a can of V-8 juice with cinnamon, and I told her I'd save the rest of the V-8 juice for after her nap when meat and cheese from one of the boxes on heavy-duty multi-whole-grain crackers for lunch. That satisfied her. So, I'm expecting her blood sugar to soar, a bit, over the next few weeks, but I think we can handle it.

Lunch

    Reading:  87
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1755
    BP:  145/65
    Pulse:  55

Lunch:  1810  & Meds
What she ate:  3 slices each swiss, cheddar and a type of dofino cheese
3 slices each beef summer sausage and beef garlic flavored summer sausage
the rest of her 11.5 oz V-8 juice with 1/4 tsp. cinnamon left from her earlier snack (see Today's Breakfast Stats above)

36 mg Iron Protein Succinylate 2 18 mg tabs with meal to pull her out of what I hope is her temporarily severely anemic state
vitamin C/500 mg 1/2 1000 mg tab with iron supplement helps the body metabolize iron

I offered her crackers with the cheese and meat plate she had. The cheese and meat were from a cheese and meat package some friends sent us for Christmas. I'm thinking, at this point, that we can manage food throughout the day if I make sure that starches and sugars are monitored.

I'm really pleased with her readings throughout the entire day. Amazing. I'll definitely follow her desires when she wants to eat four small meals throughout the day.
