Today was another one of those up-down-up days. Her first arising, on her own, was at noon. I began to prepare the bathroom for bathing while she was on the toilet. She told me she was planning on going back to bed. She hadn't leaked through (she's been running dry over the last few days, despite me bothering her about liquids) so I changed her underwear and left the bathroom to straighten her bed, rinse out her water glass and refill it. When I headed back down the hall to replace her glass, she was walking down the stairs into the living room.
"Oh," I said. "Are you staying up? If you are, we need to bathe you, just a short bath today, since you didn't leak through."
"Noooo," she said, "I'm going back to bed in a few minutes."
Thinking I might be able to change her mind, I offered to make her a cup of coffee.
"Ooo, that would be so good!"
Every fifteen minutes after that, while she sat in her rocker and we chatted, I'd query her about breakfast. She continued to tell me she was going back to bed, "in a few minutes."
Finally, around 1300, she was back in bed. I checked on her at 1400. Her eyes flickered while I studied her.
    "Feel like getting up, now?"
    "How about another hour?"
By 1500 she was in the bathroom on her own, alert and ready for the day.
No nap again today. I think she's taking her naps at night, now.
Breakfast: Sausage and eggs with chive/garlic cream cheese on half an "everything" bagel.
No lunch, as has been fairly typical, lately.
Dinner was Cobb Salad, again, just like last night, except with ham instead of pastrami.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1530, during her bath: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy ellimination; very easy clean-up.
She retired at 0140, 8/13/06. Her light went out at 1400.
