Meals were ass backwards today. For breakfast I served pineapple upside down cake (no orange juice, only detox tea). We got a bonus snow, today, yet another Christmas card snow, and Mom bemoaned the fact that we have no more sweet rolls, "They'd be so good on a day like this." So, I fished pineapple upside down cake out of the freezer and that satisfied her. It, obviously, more than satisfied her blood glucose. I have reason to believe that her BG didn't go as high during the day as it looks as though it might have because for lunch all she had was a 1 oz bag of peanuts, about an hour and a half before dinner, so those were also showing up in her blood.
Dinner was breakfast meat (both a few pieces of bacon and the last of the Canadian ham) with an egg. I also gave her a second glipizide yet again tonight, just to make sure her blood glucose didn't remain too out of hand overnight.
I'm not sure why her BG was 144 this morning, I imagine it had something to do with the noodles in both the Mac & Cheese and the home made chicken noodle soup, but I'm not worried. Anything to get her HA1c up.
Her Bowel Movement today was nothing spectacular. I think it was the tail end of all the elimination she's been doing provoked by the Phillip's a little over a day ago: It occurred at 0020 (on her way to bed) 3/22/06: Poor volume (which is to be expected, considering); good consistency; elimination not as easy as usual but not hard; somewhat smeary clean-up. Earlier in the evening, about 2000, she headed into the bathroom thinking she had to evacuate but as it turned out she didn't. I guess it took her awhile to work up to The Final Cleansing.
She was finally in the bedroom at 0040. As I sign off at 1305, her light has just gone out.
