Yes, it was a late rising for her. The Little Girl finally got her up, deciding, I guess, that she was sleeping too long.
I forgot to take her temperature this morning, but she was reporting that her side wasn't bothering her much, at all.
I'm baffled by the high glucose reading. I have no idea why it isn't normal. We ate at a decent hour, last night, had the last of the pork ribs (she had four) and corn on the cob (she had one cob and forgot to put butter on it. She stayed up until about 2300, too, which is why I was letting her sleep in. Could be the effect of the acetaminophen. I didn't give her any at breakfast. She didn't seem to need it. We tried a "formal" but reduced exercise session a little after 1500 today, though. It was aborted early, as I'd expected, and I gave her one extra strength acetaminophen with some yoghurt before she decided to take a nap. We'll see how things shake out at dinner.

She was feisty this morning when I met her in her bedroom: Already up, sitting on the side of her bed, glasses and watch on, oxygen shed, rosy and ready. We chatted a lot during her bath, some of it playfully nasty banter. When I attempted to purposely 'get her goat', she'd snap at me with her teeth. She seemed to be having some trouble standing. I asked her about it and she reported that her right leg from the knee down was "iffy". This is the leg with which she often has trouble, although usually it's only with the knee. She usually wears an elastic brace on that knee. Could be that I worked her a little too much in yesterday's exercise session. I promised her, no exercise sessions today. She'll be using her walker, tomorrow, to get around. I think she'll be ready for it by then.
I'm not sure if I'll be taking any more stats today. I think we have enough three-times-a-day data to give her PCP a fair idea of what a typical day is like, for her. Her fingers are pretty bruised, too. It's been awhile since we've been testing her 3/day. I forgot how stained it causes her fingers to look.
Her blood pressure, you'll notice, is usually excellent and normal for first thing in the morning. She'd probably been sitting on her bed for some minutes before The Little Girl began howling to let me know that The Mom was up. Mom had also been petting The Little Girl for awhile. I guess it's true what's said about blood pressure lowering when one pets ones pets.
She suggested Cobb Salad tonight, so I'm sure that's what we'll be having. My intention is to awaken her no later than 0630 tomorrow and spur her hard so we're in the car by 0900. I told her during her bath that I'd be reminding her frequently today of our schedule tomorrow.
    "Good," she said.
"When I say 'Up!' and 'Move!' tomorrow, Mom, that means 'up' and 'move'."
"Okay," she agreed. "Just keep me on my toes."
That I will.     Forgot to mention during original posting: her Bowel Movement occurred around 1430. Good volume, consistency, and easily eliminated with very easy clean-up. I was thrilled. This would have meant, had we traveled on the 21st (this is being added on the 22nd) that I would not have needed to worry about possible bowel accidents during the trip.

Two possibilities for her blood glucose being somewhat out of normal range at 0605: First, it could be that it is now taking a good 12 hours over night for her to reach normal, again; second, she is no where near her diabetes "going on vacation", which means her Chronic Renal Failure is more likely Chronic Renal Blipping, at this point.

I'm speculating, here, on her high blood glucose. The Cholest-Off could have something to do with it, so I'm stopping that for awhile. But, you'll notice I also took her blood pressure and her temperature. Let me explain this morning.
A little before noon my mother was calling me from the bathroom. "Gail, I need toilet paper." She never remembers that I clean her. She was "in the middle" of a Bowel Movement. "I'm almost finished," she assured me.
As usual, I informed her that I would be cleaning her, and we'd wait until the last part of her bath. I scurried off to get her before breakfast pills, which I fed her moments later, including the Cholest-Off.
At this point she told me she'd "be awhile", as she had to "go again" and was have some trouble eliminating the rest. So, I told her I'd leave her for a bit, get a head start on chores and check back on her. I checked about every five minutes and noticed that she seemed to be straining, although, each time I asked her about this she said, "No, I'm just having a little trouble, that's all."
Well, after about a half hour of this I walked into the bathroom and she announced to me, "I vomited." Sure enough, there was a little expelation on the towel beneath her feet.
No problem. I wasn't sure what caused it but figured she must be pretty backed up and it might be a combination of this and the bean soup and artichoke salad I fed her last night. So, I scurried off to get another towel, her metaclopramide, her glucometer, blood pressure cuff and thermometer, just in case something was really wrong. I also started the water for some Ginger Tea, which helps to calm nausea.
As you can see, from her readings, while her blood glucose was unusually high for having not eaten for some hours (although she'd had the Cholest-Off about 45 minutes previous to me taking her reading), her blood pressure is normal for a straining situation and her temperature is arterially normal. As well, she had not vomited up any of her pills, which indicated that her stomach had already passed them on.
By this time, she was complaining of having "a lot of trouble" expelling her shit. So, I told her I'd leave her alone for another 15 minutes with a magazine and the tea and, if she still hadn't managed to eliminate the blockage, I was going to perform the enema bottle procedure documented in the post Love and All That Shit, second paragraph. When I returned, I had her stand, cleaned the collection of small, hard shit rocks protruding from her anus and allowed her to sit and strain for a bit as she thought this might stimulate her. It didn't, so I performed the enema procedure. I tried to shoot some of the liquid up but was unsuccessful getting the tip up there without clogging it with shit. She sat back down. Suddenly, she started vomiting, again, all the tea and water I'd given her. As she vomited the muscular contractions apparently stimulated her bowels and her shit bricks dropped into the toilet. After all this was over and she was relatively calm, she felt as though she still had to shit but couldn't. I surmised that she may still have some shit up there and insisted that she stand, once again. I noticed that her colon was relaxed, although a bit swollen from the pressure. I shot some of the enema into her. She immediately sat, expelled what I'd administered and announced that she felt better, but wanted to go back to bed. I'd anticipated this and her bed was ready for her. I'd bathed her earlier, as well, when she wasn't feeling so good. This time, I'd performed the entire bathing ritual on her, except for her face. I stood her up, once again, cleaned her rear area, which was smothered with shit, cleaned her thigh creases, applied everything we normally apply (lotion, anti-itch cream, cornstarch), dressed her in a clean night shirt, paper underweared her and sent her on to bed after coaxing her to drink some more water.

Today. Hmmm...I might have taken her BG this morning. I'll have to check. She did have three extra strength acetaminophen tablets today, spaced out over, oh, 8 hours between each dose, the last taken just before bed. Oh, yeah, that's right. The Monte Carlo. Gotta mention that.
I remember, her weight at the doctor's office was 140. She ate well, excellent appetite, a little heavier than usual on the refined carbohydrates but nothing drastic, like sugared candy, or anything; fair amount of vegetables, all lightly steamed or marinated.
Although she got a late start, she drank well, even thirsted a couple of times.
.     I'll enter what other stats I find...[don't forget the informal oxygen stats]
    ...later.

Her Bowel Movement occurred in the afternoon, after her nap. Although she responded, when I asked, that she was having no trouble passing anything, it took an unusually long time, about 20 minutes, and I discovered that she had, once again, been passing rock shit, although her colon was not swollen and pressured and cleaning was very easy. I'm thinking of using Colace on her if her every-other-day regularity does any more skipping.
