She was very dehydrated, this morning, had flushed herself admirably during the night. I awoke her at 1130 but it took almost 20 mintues of conversation to get her hand over the edge of the bed to take her BG. Needless to say, I've been pumping her with liquids since she awoke.
I instituted a policy a couple of days ago: If she awakens really late (from 1130 on), no nap. She's been taking this well, although I have to remind her. But, because her dehydration was pulling at her energy, I allowed her a nap, today. Only two hours. I'll be awakening her at 1730. I expect a late night, again, tonight.

Review: 7/4/05 - Today

Curious, isn't it, that I skipped stats but was meticulous about recording her bowel movements here and there.
Her blood pressure has been doing very well. I have only felt the need to check it in the evening and administer a third lisinopril a couple of times.
I am concerned about her sleeping and trying to do something about that. Check out the immediately previous post for details.
Her appetite remains sturdy. We've been eating a lot of cool (as in temperature) dinners, lately: Lots of Cobb or other types of salads with meat (tonight, for instance, we're going to have marinated chicken salad, maybe with garlic cheese bread). Her lunches have been pretty standard: 8 oz artificially sweetened non-fat yoghurt, V-8 juice and a mixture of mini-dills and olives. Her breakfasts remain the same as the last time I recorded meals. At least once a day she gets cranberry juice, 6 oz pure juice mixed with Splenda® and 6 oz water. She usually gets this at dinner.
Her medication schedule remains the same as the last time it was recorded. No more UTIs since the last one.

Today's Stats:

BM Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1301
    Reading:  106
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1303
    BP:  109/55
    Pulse:  60

Very late wake-up, today, although, the previous night, she stayed up until 1230. We were watching two presidential movies from our stash, The American President and Dave, two of her favorites. Even after the movies ended, she still didn't want to go to bed. She sat up from 11:30 until 0030 doing crosswords while I made a short post and read.
Her Bowel Movement occurred, once again, during her bathing, near excellent volume, excellent consistency, very easy clean-up. Today was the day I also gave her 20 mg of furosemide twice because she had a CHF episode. Although her feet and belly swelling we not completely gone by the time she went to bed, they were well enough down so that I expected her to be very dehydrated in the morning.
Just a note: She did dry hack in the morning, but only a couple of times. I kept her on oxygen all day.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2044
    Reading:  117
Blood Pressure:

BM Breakfast 7/11/05
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1156
    BP:  110/56

I think I decided to give her fingers a rest, which is why there are no BG readings. She did, however, have a Bowel Movement sometime between lunch and dinner. I remember because, I'd been considering giving her yet another generic colace before she went to bed and was relieved that I didn't have to.

BM 7/13/05
Although I took no stats on this day, I did record, on a shopping list, that she'd had a Bowel Movement, between breakfast and lunch. Standard volume, standard consistency, standard clean-up.

Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1935

I remember two things about this evening: First, I was getting nervous about the fact that she did not seem close to a bowel movement, so, I gave her a generic Colace with dinner; second, although I didn't measure her blood pressure a third time, my familiarity with her BP cycling provoked me to give her a third lisinopril before bed.
