BM I probably should have taken her BP before bed...

...last night, but I didn't. And, I kept my word regarding no stats on our traveling days, which was probably a good idea.
It was a great relief to me that she had a Bowel Movement today before we left, especially since I didn't give her any Benefiber® this morning and am not planning to take it on the trip. It occurred at 1130, just as we were getting her ready before calling the rental company to have them deliver our car: Good volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination, very easy clean-up.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1148
    Reading:  100
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1159
    BP:  110/63
    Pulse:  68

    Everything looks good. No comments.

BM Lunch Non-stats
Her Bowel Movement occurred at around 1315: Very good volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
She had one dose of Benefiber® today, in the morning; one tablespoon in her orange juice. I, frankly, forgot to give her any more, but I think that'll be okay, since we're traveling tomorrow and Saturday will be when MPS stays with her while I'm at traffic school. All she had for lunch was an 11.5 oz can of V-8 juice. That's all she wanted. She drank a lot of coffee today, though, and peed through her underwear a couple of times in less than 2 hours.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2053
    Reading:  109
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  2051
    BP:  149/58
    Pulse:  64

We had leftover tomato pie, tonight, and she had yet another piece of chocolate cake.

Today's Stats:

BM Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1133
    Reading:  82
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1204
    BP:  130/63
    Pulse:  63

    Everything looks good.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1210: Better than fair but not quite the volume I was expecting, considering the stool softener doses she got day before yesterday; very easy elimination; excellent consistency; very easy clean-up.

Lunch
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1642
    Reading:  127
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1641
    BP:  114/56
    Pulse:  60

I considered not taking lunch stats today, but I wanted to make sure the normal readings this morning weren't a blip, considering the chocolate cake, last night, and the episode of high blood pressure we had day before yesterday. They weren't.
She had what she called "A lunch Lunch" today: Marie Callendar's Pot Roast Soup with added peas, carrots, onions and beef. I gave her a choice between half a sandwich and chips and, well, it wasn't much of a contest when chips are involved, which was fine. No olives, although I think I'll pack a few under her belt for dinner, tonight.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2033
    Reading:  113
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  2037
    BP:  149/63
    Pulse:  52

I will be taking her blood pressure again before she goes to bed.
I asked her what she wanted for dinner, tonight, and she said, "Chocolate cake." So, I compromised, more on her side than mine. I insisted that she have an 11.5 oz can of V-8 juice and 6 olives before her cake. That was fine with her.
I forgot to mention, I picked up some Benefiber® at Costco yesterday [Damn, even at Costco, that's an expensive way to buy guar gum, which is all Benefiber® is; I think I'll see if I can get it cheaper some other way.] and she had her first serving, one tablespoon, in her V-8 juice tonight. I think what I'll do is start with three tablespoons a day, one tablespoon in a beverage at every meal, and, if necessary, we'll work up from there and see if that causes her to fully eliminate with each bowel movement, or, at least keep her from eliminating only a little and backing up the rest.

Bedtime
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  0016
    BP:  138/68
    Pulse:  59

Yes, this stat is back dated so it fits in with "the day's" stats. I almost forgot to check her blood pressure. She was already in bed and reading. Although it seems high, I didn't wait for her pressure to settle after I asked her to sit up on the edge of the bed. So, I decided to forego a third lisinopril. I think she'll be all right. We'll see how her blood pressure registers in the morning.
Her light went out at 0025, but I told her that I'll probably awaken her between 1100 and 1130 tomorrow morning, despite the fact that this will be less than 12 hours. I think she'll be okay with this. She can always take an early nap; much earlier than today: Her nap, today, took place from 1900 - 2015.

Today's Stats:

Morning
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1129
    BP:  114/62
    Pulse:  61

I'm only doing blood pressures, today, and, if each pressure looks good, I'm only taking those twice; now and just before dinner. So far, so good.

Evening
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1953
    BP:  125/66
    Pulse:  59

Very nice. No reason to take her blood pressure at bedtime, especially since she'll be having chocolate cake for dessert and chocolate lowers blood pressure.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1117
    Reading:  117
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1201
    BP:  158/73
    Pulse:  58

The blood pressure reading, which is a little high for her, was the second I took, a little over a half hour after the first. Both were almost exactly the same. Her feet looked good, so did her belly, so I'm not sure why it's up. I'll keep an eye on it today, though.
Over the last couple of weeks we've been eating Canadian Bacon, with significantly less fat instead of regular bacon. We ran out yesterday and I forgot to get more at Costco, so we switched back to regular bacon.

Snack
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1724
    BP:  143/63
    Pulse:  57

Her BP is doing better, but I decided to give her the "third" lisinopril for lunch. She continues to look good, though. No unusual swelling anywhere. For lunch she had 8 oz non-fat, artificially sweetened yoghurt, an apple (we're starting the higher fiber regimen [see posting at The Mom & Me Journals for this date for explanation], and the apple adds "good" sugar; she refused the wheat germ in her yoghurt today, though; tomorrow I won't ask her), 5 olives and 11.5 oz V-8 juice, and, a cup of caffeinated coffee.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2022
    Reading:  146
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  2021
    BP:  160/69
    Pulse:  58

I think her blood pressure may be connected to her claiming this morning she was constipated. She's saying, tonight, that she doesn't feel constipated, again, but that she feels "awfully full". The ducosate sodium did not stimulate a bowel movement but I think it's probably stimulating her higher blood pressure.
Although I had planned on making the tomato bisquit pie tonight, she saw a commercial on TV for TV dinners and decided that's what she wanted, so I went out and got her one. It's been a long time since either of us have had those and this one reminded her of why. I didn't have a TV dinner, I made myself a salad. After dinner she said she wished she'd had that.

Today's Stats:

BM Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1118
    Reading:  93
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1150
    BP:  144/62
    Pulse:  53

Well, our Just Desserts dinner of blueberry cobbler settled well overnight. I'm still a bit concerned about her blood pressure, but her feet and belly looked good this morning. She was eating breakfast by 1230 today, which is good; ate a hearty one of sausage and 1.3 eggs with toast and orange juice. I'm giving her about 8 oz of orange juice, now, mixed with 8 oz of water, which, I'm sure, tastes better to her and gives her a little more glucose oomph.
Her Bowel Movement happened on schedule today, at about 1400: fair volume, excellent consistency, very easy elimination and very easy clean-up.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1856
    Reading:  120
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1801
    BP:  125/65
    Pulse:  56

You'll notice almost an hour's difference between the blood pressure stats and the blood glucose stats. I was concerned about her blood pressure when she awoke from her nap, just because it was a little high this morning. She wanted hamburgers, though, and wasn't really interested in eating much in the way of a snack between awakening and dinner, which she'd already announced should be hamburgers and MCS's homemade Bread & Butter pickles. I gave her a glass of V-8 juice, knowing that she wouldn't be getting much in the way of vegetables at dinner since when she has a home made hamburger (on an onion bun with a thick slice of Bermuda onion, an equally thick slice of sharp yellow cheddar and dill pickle relish), that's all she wants (well, except for the pickles). She was pretty thirsty and drank it down pretty fast. Afterward, I took her blood pressure, which looked good, and waited until about 15 minutes before dinner to take her blood glucose.
Other than her joints bothering her because of the weather, she seems to be feeling much better than yesterday. About a half hour ago I gave her one extra strength acetaminophen that should help settle her for bed.
