I don't know, maybe those VC pills are affecting her blood sugar a bit. I'll give it a few more days before I decide to get the ones without any sugar or carbohydrates.

calcium-vitamin D/500-200 mg with meal believed to be an osteoporosis preventative

That's right, her blood sugar was exactly the same at "dinner" as it was at lunch. I was expecting it to be higher, so I'm pleased.
"Just Desserts" happened by accident. Neither she nor I was very hungry when it came time to administer her pills, and she announced early that she was not going to stay up late tonight (a storm bombardment started today). I told her what I had planned and neither of us was interested. "What about something sweet?" she asked. Sounded good to us, so that's what we had.

A couple of things I want to note, besides the fact that I intended to awaken Mom at 1100 when I arrived home from Costco, but the day waylaid me.
She had a BM today at 1300, while we were bathing her. Easy movement, quickly expelled, good volume.
I had to get more vitamin C, today. I purchased a bottle of 500 mg tablets, so I could spare my pill splitter for her lisinopril (the 1000 mg VC pills are huge and I'm sure they dull the edge of the splitter). I arrived home, distributed them into her pill bottles (we ran out yesterday evening) and noticed they were bright orange, which usually means they are chewable (which they were, I hadn't noticed) and, thus, contain sugar. The back of the bottle says "less than 1 g sugar/less than 1 g carbohydrates". Hopefully, that amount shouldn't make a difference, but, if it does, I'll head back to Costco and purchase non-chewables. Since I've opened the bottle, I can't return this one, but I can take them.

Although her blood sugar may seem high, when she decided she was hungry and couldn't wait to eat lunch it had only been a little over 3 hours since she'd eaten her last bite of breakfast, so, her blood sugar is pretty much on track for this time span.

calcium-vitamin D/500-200 mg with meal believed to be an osteoporosis preventative

I was a bit alarmed at her blood pressure, although she spent the evening going in and out of a looking-for-cigarettes fit and insisting that she'd been smoking all day and that surely there were cigarettes in the house. This could have accounted for its hike.
Her blood sugar is well within range for there having been only 3 hours between lunch and dinner. Once again, she was quite hungry. I think I'm going to have to "plump up" her meals, a bit, to avoid this, or suggest that she snack on pickles, olives and vegetables between meals, although she isn't awfully fond of doing this. If her appetite continues in this manner (and, believe me, I celebrate her having a hearty appetite), though, since I make sure the house isn't loaded with high carb food, hopefully she'll take to snacking on what we have. I can't feed her popcorn all day without deleterious consequences to her blood sugar, I've already discovered this.
I'm also going to keep a close eye on her blood sugar because of the Vitamin C with sugar. Today wasn't a good test day, but I'm sure we'll have several in the near future.

I think the high lunchtime readings are due to the ham at breakfast two days in a row. We're out of ham, now, so these should go back down within a day or two.

This time, I made the mistake of talking to my mother while I was taking her blood pressure. There was no aggravation involved, but she responded. Certain things affect her systolic, usually emotional, and certain things affect her diastolic, usually movement and talking from a calm interior, I've noticed.
    Otherwise, everything looks good.

1 Tbl Phillip's Milk of Magnesia with 8 oz water helps soften her iron-ladden shit

I gave her some Milk of Magnesia at lunch because earlier she'd attempted to have a bowel movement, which turned into a bowel incident. Actually, the problem wasn't rock shit; in fact it was soft enough that she really dirtied herself as she attempted to expel the little that she did eliminate. But, I figured there must be some further up and gave her the dose as a precautionary measure. We've been having a fair amount of cheese, lately. I keep forgetting that milk products bind. She loves cheese and I have to be careful with it.

I'm not sure why her blood sugar jumped between lunch and dinner; it usually does this between breakfast and lunch. Oh well, it wasn't a dangerous jump.
Her high blood pressure was the fault of a minute argument my mother initiated while I was taking her blood pressure: She claimed that when I take her blood pressure while she is watching an episode of Deep Space 9 she can't concentrate on keeping her arm limp because she's involved in the episode and doesn't want to concentrate on anything else. I decided not to irritate her further by retaking her blood pressure, but I'll keep in mind, now, that I need to "stop" Deep Space 9 for the few moments when I take her blood pressure. If she's watching something on TV, I'll wait until commercial breaks.

500 mg acetaminopen 1 tab with meal complained of her right knee begin "a little iffy" and didn't refuse the tablet when I asked her if she wanted one

It was almost 0100 when she went to bed, this morning, so I let her have her 12 hours; when I roused her, she was already awake and leaning on one elbow, gathering her strength to get up. Despite this, it took awhile for her to get around...another cloudy day. But, everything looks good and her appetite is good.

Today has been a sleep day for Mom. She awoke late then went back to bed a couple of hours later. Her right knee has been bothering her because we've got a slowly approaching 'very low' coming in. Her brain's been foggy with it, as well. And her blood sugar reflects her desire to hibernate, today. So, we'll just deal with it.

BM w/out Stats:

Over the last 30 minutes. She attempted to eliminate right after midnight, had no success, I wiped her, we got her ready for bed, she headed in, then headed right back to the bathroom and eliminated a good amount. I administered 1 Tbl Phillip's Milk of Magnesia to her after her unsuccessful attempt, with 8 oz water, so if her system didn't completely clean itself out on her second try, it probably will sometime tonight or tomorrow.
