Combined Non-stat Days: 1/11 - 1/13/06

1/11/06: BM
Lunch/Dinner (which is to say she refused lunch): Ham & bean soup with corn bread. Later, before retiring, at her request I nuked a frozen piece of apple pie and put the last of the ice cream, about 3/4's of a cup, on it for her.
Bowel Movement occurred at 1330: Good volume; a little smeary due to a previous evening dose of laxative; very easy elimination; only slightly challenging clean-up.

1/12/06
Dinner (only meal recorded): Buffalo wings, cottage cheese and V-8 juice.

1/13/06: BM
Dinner (only meal recorded): Halibut, shrimp and California (which I guess is vegetable) sushi with an Italian dressed side salad containing greens, avocado, winter squash and zucchini, Bermuda onion and carrot, feta and Parmesan. Also, later, a piece of pumpkin pecan pie. I'm surprised she asked for it. I didn't think she realized we had some of it in the freezer. The Halibut and shrimp sushi were very good; the California sushi, well, this particular place from which I bought the sushi apparently thinks the best way to stuff vegetables in a rice roll is to practically puree the things and add sugar. Both of us took one bite from the vegetable sushi and refused to eat the rest.
Bowel Movement occurred at 2330: Excellent volume, excellent consistency, very easy elimination, very easy clean-up.

BM All Day Stats:

A.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1206
    Reading:  118
A.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1227
    BP:  141/67
    Pulse:  58

P.M. Blood Glucose:
    Not taken
P.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1922
    BP:  117/65
    Pulse:  59

Dinner (only meal recorded): The last of the home made chicken vegetable curry soup and grilled garlic Parmesan bread.
Bowel Movement occurred at approximately 2100: Stingy volume; rocky consististency; somewhat difficult elimination; very easy clean-up. Mom complained that she "still had to go" but couldn't. Since no more eliminations occurred before she retired I gave her two tablespoons of Phillip's Milk of Magnesia with a glass of water.

Mini-review of Stats since 12/30/05

Stats have been few and far between, as you've probably noticed, particularly blood pressure stats. In fact, it seems, according to my notes, I was taking her blood pressure in the mornings on those days when I took her blood glucose. The wrist cuff, though, retains only the last 20 readings, and since I'm finally catching up today, January 31, 2006, this presents a problem; the last BP recorded for war the evening of January 10, 2006.
In my notes for January 9, 2006 I mention that the 10 mg lisinopril twice a day "doesn't seem to be affecting her blood pressure much, which remains high". Of course, I was taking it in the morning and if she is very likely to be irritated with me taking her blood pressure in the morning. Unfortunately, I can't remember what "high" translates to, systolically, but I'm sure that her diastolic was unaffected, as this occurs so rarely that I would have mentioned it.
From this point on, if stats to not appear it's because I didn't take them, not because the cuff dropped them.

No-stat Day:

Dinner (only meal recorded): Skillet meat loaf so loaded with chopped vegetables that I glued it together with a topping of sharp yellow Cheddar and pan pickled beets (no sugar).
At breakfast this morning I upped her dose of Benefiber to 5 tsp. I'll probably keep it at that, since she's been experiencing two to three day breaks in bowel movements between two or three dailies.
