    Very short nap.

She actually arose at 1300 but we spent awhile chatting in her bedroom.
Normal lunch of V-8 juice & peanuts. I forgot her second iron tablet.
I served a luscious Cobb Salad for dinner with defatted pepperoni as the meat and crushed Nachoes Doritos instead of croutons.
Her bowel movement occurred during her bath at about 1330: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
She retired at 0045, 5/6/06. Her light went off at 0100.

BM No Stat Day:

BM fair 1605; no lunch; spent most of the day sleeping, finally arose at 1400 straight up, then took a nap from 1500 - 1700; no lunch; dinner of a 3.5 ounce bag of popcorn, cottage cheese; vegetables with Ranch dipping sauce.
I purposely did not administer her second iron pill because she obviously wasn't going to spend a lot of time up on this day.     Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1705: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
She retired at 0030, 5/5/06. Her light went out at 0050.

You'll notice the third BG reading above. I just wanted to test my usually unsubstantiated hunches about when it's a good idea to give Mom a second glipizide (which I did this evening). Because of what we had for dinner (the left over tuna/potato casserole with fresh carrots, radishes and olives and a bit of the home made ranch dressing for dipping) I had already planned to give her a second glipizide but wanted to test my decision. I may do this off and on with a variety of foods just to put my hunches to further test.
Other than that, pretty much a typical day, although once again only two meals and only two iron capsules. This will probably also happen tomorrow, as we are planning our evening meal around the watching of Texas Ranch House, which begins at 2000; I am seeing to it that dinner is prepared and served just before the show begins so that both of us get to see the entire two hours without interruption.
Her nap was a standard two hours today. She retired at 0030, 5/4/06. Her light went out at 0105.

Only two iron capsules today. I'm not concerned about skipping an iron capsule here and there. She's getting so much iron as it is that I'd just as soon forget, every few days, to give her a third capsule. This month's blood draw will tell whether skipping one here and there is a bad idea.
Everything looks good today. Only two meals, no lunch. She awoke on her own at a little after noon. Took a normal nap but wasn't hungry when she awoke and decided to wait until dinner to eat, so we ate dinner a little earlier than usual. Dinner was Cobb salad with chicken (no egg), a variety of fresh vegetables and greens, chopped pickled asparagus, no shredded cheese, home made Ranch dressing and crumbled Nachoes Doritos. We'll be having Cobb and other salads a lot more now that the weather is warming up.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1950: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
She retired at midnight, 5/3/06, straight up. Her light went off at 0015.

BM Half Stat Half Day:

Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1639
    Reading:  130
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1436
    BP:  122/58
    Pulse:  59

It was one of those days. I started checking on her and rousing her lightly at 1100, first every half hour then every hour. Finally, at 1600, I could take "let me sleep a little longer" no more. It took a long time to actually get her out of the bedroom, although she was on her ass on the edge of the bed with a few minutes after me saying, "Look, I know that you have one of these days about every month or so, but it always makes me nervous, so I'm going to insist that you get up, now."
She actually had a good, although short, day, though: Looked good. Felt good. Looked out the window at the greening of Prescott and said several times, "It sure is nice to see summer coming." We didn't go anywhere but her spirits were high. She sat on the edge of the bed and we talked for almost three quarters of an hour before we bathed her.
Obviously, we only got one formal meal in: Breakfast. I made sure it was hardy, though: Polish sausage with her egg; two pieces of toast; two eggs; 1/2 glass of O.J. mixed with water instead of her usual 1/3. She scarfed everything. We managed to get almost all her meds and supplements in. The only ones she missed were her third iron capsule, her second lisinopril and her second serving of aloe vera gel.
Later in the evening, around 2100, she had two ounces of peanuts. Drank plenty of liquid without a problem: She was thirsty after having slept that long.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1700: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
Initially she retired just before midnight. I wasn't tired, yet, so I channel surfed and found a program on PBM called Texas Ranch House that is a reality show in which a group of people run a Texas ranch house as though they are in 1867. Mom's light was on and I knew she'd love watching this so I summoned her out. She was thrilled. After the show, which ended at 0100 5/2/06, we talked a bit about it, then, again, about The Dead, whom she was phasing so severely that within minutes of me telling her someone was dead they were alive, again. The Crib Card I made and placed by her bed didn't even help. She "doubted" quite a bit of what I said.
Finally, about 0130, she retired. I was in bed at the time her light went out at 0145.

Mom's morning actually happened in humanity's agreed upon morning in this region. I'm not sure why her BG was so high in the morning. I gave her an extra glipizide before going to bed last night. I know why it was high in the evening. Instead of peanuts Mom wanted popcorn with her V-8 juice. Although the fiber is good for her, it tends to run her BG up.
I was going to serve left over tuna casserole for dinner but Mom wanted "fried chicken" (which is unusual for her to request; I usually mention it), so I got KFC. She ate a leg and thigh, cole slaw, green beans and a biscuit. She cleaned her plate.
Very short nap, not even a half hour. She said she didn't sleep and this time I believe her.
She retired at 2330, light went off at 2350.
