Normal breakfast with ham instead of bacon.
Extending arousing and bathing is continuing to occur, although this is going well for her, she's alert, and engaged the whole time and looks good, as well, so we'll just go with it.
    Lunch: Normal.
Her Bowel Movement occurred in stages, the first being about 1340, of which she wasn't aware but we discovered when she stood for me to wash her torso: Poor volume; very smeary consistency; very easy elimination; very challenging clean-up. After I'd finished cleaning her, she sat back down on the toilet at 1400 and completed Stage 2: Excellent volume; very smeary consistency; very easy elimination; very challening clean-up.
Dinner: Tuna fish sandwiches and Doritos Nacho Cheese Chips.
She retired at 0030, 8/06/06. Her light went out at 0100.

BM Half Stat Day:

A.M. Blood Glucose:

    Reading:  161
A.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1410
    BP:  142/66
    Pulse:  55

Yet another in our continuing series of Half Stat Days. Her birthday dinner is definitely waving from her blood, this morning. I'm not sure what's up with her BP, but, over the last few days our mornings, through her breakfast, have been significantly slower by her silent direction, so I think she's just much more easily annoyed with me taking her stats. Which is why I am pulling back to one set a day.
Breakfast was normal except for the substitution of ham for bacon, which will continue for a few more days, I'm sure.
Again, because our morning preparations are expanding in time, thus she's eating breakfast later, only two meals today. Dinner was her choice (I asked her what she wanted this morning). She chose Beef Pot Pie (amazing that she didn't chose ham, I guess she's getting used to it, now).
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1910: Fairly good volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
She retired at 0005, 8/5/06. Her light went out at 0045. She was up again, though, about 15 minutes later, for awhile, just to chat, "see what [I] was doing" and flip through her gossip magazines while I worked on the computer. I think that lasted about an hour. She retired without reading in bed or getting back up at about 0200.

Half Stat Day:

A.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1309
    Reading:  109
A.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1335
    BP:  120/58
    Pulse:  57

Considering everything she ate last night, including the dessert, I'm surprised that her BG is normal! As I note to myself, I administered her evening glipizide with dessert which she ate a couple hours after she finished dinner, her choice.
Breakfast reprised yesterday's except she asked for an egg, as well.
No lunch, again, but she refused it because she was "working up an appetite for our Birthday Restaurant Dinner, which consisted of a full rack of ribs, baked beans, cole slaw, fries and a rootbeer. Interesting occurrence: Because of the fries, she immediately reached for the bottle of ketchup kept on the table. She covered her fries then moved to start on her ribs.
"Mom," I said, "run your finger across your ribs and lick it. They've already been sauced. I think you'll find that ketchup will ruin the flavor of the sauce."
She did as I suggested and, much to my surprise and hers, discovered that she agreed with me. Hallelujah! This meant she'd be consuming slightly less sugar than if she'd slathered the ribs with ketchup.
One extra medication: I gave took to the restaurant an adult buffered aspirin, in case her back began to bother her because of the walkering, which happens fairly often. As it turned it, I was on target. All the handicapped spaces were full, as well as all easy access parking spaces. I dropped her off at the ramp and had her sit there on her walker seat while I parked the car but even shortening the space as much as I could meant she had a fair ways to walker before we arrived at our table. When I offered her the aspirin, she took it.
She retired, full and happy, at 0030, 8/4/06. Her light went off an astounding 40 minutes after retiring, at 0110.

Non Stat Day:

I mean, you know, it's her birthday. Why punch and cuff her if it isn't necessary? So, I didn't.
Regarding food, it was definitely a ham-at-home day: Ham and fruit (berries, kiwi, mango and pineapple) for breakfast; no lunch, as quite a bit of her day was spent sleeping; ham sandwiches (on sourdough bread with mustard and mayonnaise) for dinner with her choice of sides; she chose potato chips; a third Just Desserts meal much later in the evening of another piece of her birthday dessert with another scoop of ice cream.
Despite packing a bit more sleep than usual under her belt, she had a lively day. She retired at 0015 on 8/3/06. Her light went out at 0045.

BM Half Stat Day:

A.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1323
    Reading:  126
A.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1404
    BP:  126/63
    Pulse:  61

That's right. It took an hour, from 1300 to 1400, to get her from eyes-open to taking her blood pressure in the bathroom. In the meantime, though, we talked "birthday dinner" in her bedroom.
Today was her at-home birthday dinner. She had a normal breakfast, but since it came so late, she had no lunch. Her nap was late (although short), as well. Very late. By the time she awoke, dinner was almost ready to be served: Kirkland ham with a maple/curry glaze; a baked sweet potato (I found two very small ones); peas heated with chopped, sauteed bacon, onion, green pimiento stuffed olive, celery and garlic and my Greek/Italian dressing mixture.
Yes, there was dessert, as well, a couple of hours later, which is when she got her second set of pills (her second iron pill was served with dinner): A luscious looking brownie-cake confection with loads of toasted pecans (my mother's favorite nut) on top, glued down with caramel and chocolate sauce, served a la mode with a scoop of Haagen Daz creme brulee ice cream.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1535: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
Although she retired a little before midnight, she was up three times, reminiscing about the dinner, other similar dinners, and, finally, making plans for Christmas this year. I think the last time she went to bed was around 0230, 8/2/06, although I couldn't swear to that. All I know is that when I went to be at 0300, it seemed like she'd gone back to bed about a half hour before.

A.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  0918
    Reading:  128
A.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  0916
    BP:  159/75
    Pulse:  67

P.M. Blood Glucose:

Breakfast: Normal except for substitution of a blackberry-orange scone for her usual toast.
    Lunch: Peanuts and coffee only.
Dinner: Cobb salad with pastrami, crumbled Doritos Nacho Cheese Chips, grated sharp white Vermont Cheddar among a variety of vegetables, including tomatoes and green olives. I administered her second lisinopril at dinner because her BP seems to be running high, today, and I thought giving it to her at dinner rather than at bedtime might help.
Her Bowel Movement occured at 1400 straight up: Very good volume; smeary consistency; very easy elimination; slightly smeary clean-up.
Mom retired at 2255. Her light remains at at this posting. I'll be back to record when her light goes out.
She didn't actually retire the first time she retired. She was back up a little after 2300 and remained up until 0045. Her light went out at 0115, 8/01/06.
