calcium-vitamin D/500-200 mg with meal believed to be an osteoporosis preventative

I'm a little concerned about her blood pressure, especially the diastolic. She was pretty relaxed, but we were watching an exciting movie in which she was very involved, hunched forward, etc. I stopped the movie to take her blood pressure, but it could have still been having an effect on her.
As our New Year's Eve Treat Dinner, we had something we haven't had in a long time, home made fast junk food; my version of the Burger King Croissandwich. She loves these, and we haven't had them in a long time (and only have them occasionally) for obvious reasons.
She declined dessert, which was a good thing because I wasn't sure what I was going to feed her if she wanted it. Probably a can of mandarin orange slices in light syrup, syrup drained.

162 again. I still can't explain it. We even did an informal set of exercises, for about a half hour, and her nap was less than an hour. I'll see how this plays out, though.

500 mg acetaminophen 1 tab with meal right knee "bothering her"...limping a little

Mom was in the mood for a snack dinner tonight, and I didn't want anything to eat, so this worked out very well. Again, for the second day in a row, her blood sugar is pretty high at lunch. I expected it to settle down more before dinner, but she lingered over eating her lunch...it took her almost an hour to eat...then announced she was hungry at 1945, so it could be the time element. Anyway, all blips are minor. We're doing very well, actually.

garlic/1250 mg with meal standard breakfast supplement; a natural antibiotic and anti-coagulant
1/2 cup pure cranberry juice w/12 oz water with or after meal standard twice a day supplement for kidney protection and enhancement of waste management

Continuing with only one BP measurement per day, in the evening before dinner, since everything looked good yesterday; what I thought might be a decline symptomatic of some condition in need of immediate attention turned out to be nothing.
    Yes, a late arising again.
She just went down for a nap (rainy days are her Waterloo). Her right knee appeared to be giving her trouble so I gave her 500 mg acetaminophen, with which she didn't argue.
BM between 1500 and 1530. Very easy, almost too easy, although she had no trouble controlling her elimination until she reached the bathroom. A bit messy after which to clean up, although not bad. I think I'll stop the Phillip's Milk of Magnesia for awhile, or maybe ratchet it down to 1/2 Tbl every other day, depending on how things go (pun not intended but appropriate).

Lunch
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1711
    Reading:  162
Blood Pressure:

    time unless necessary

Lunch:  1730  & Meds
What she ate:  1/6th of a piece of the tomato sausage pie, the last of it
1/4 tsp. cinnamon w/cranberry juice (left over from breakfast)
Med/Dose Administration Explanation
36 mg Iron Protein Succinylate 2 18 mg tabs with meal to pull her out of what I hope is her temporarily severely anemic state
vitamin C/500 mg 1/2 1000 mg tab with iron supplement helps the body metabolize iron

I'm not sure why her blood sugar was so high at lunch. She was actually up most of the day, once I aroused her and took only a short nap. Oh well. I monitored her pill taking this morning, so I know it wasn't that, and we've both been here all day, so I know it wasn't that she ate anything that would raise her blood sugar before lunch. It wasn't dangerously high, though, so I'm not worried.

Dinner Non-stats
Dinner:  2045  & Meds

garlic/1250 mg with meal given for anti-coagulant properties
calcium-vitamin D/500-200 mg with meal believed to be an osteoporosis preventative

I completely forgot stats, tonight. We were involved in breaking into the 2nd season of Deep Space 9 and I served our Just Desserts Dinner when she reported she was hungry. I'm expecting everything to be okay, though, tomorrow morning.
I expect this will be the last of the closely packed Just Desserts dinners for awhile, since I've frozen the other half of the cheesecake and muffins for company next week.

I took her blood pressure this morning to see if it is continuing to lower beyond her normal level. It's not. I'm relieved. Otherwise, everything looks good.

Miscellaneous Stat
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1525
    BP:  133/56
    Pulse:  59

Although the natural light could be to blame, she looked pale before deciding to take a nap and when she arose from her rocking chair she faltered, although I didn't see the entire process. So, because I thought her blood pressure might be dropping out of sight, I had her sit back down and took it. It's fine. Then, when she arose again I saw what the problem was...she wasn't watching where she was going and tried to walk through the side of the chair instead of around it.
Well, at least I'm getting in all the BP readings on which I was planning, today.

Lunch Non-stats
I forgot to take her stats at lunch today until she was halfway through and then I figured it was a bust, I'll wait until dinner. However, her lunch catalog is as follows:
Lunch:  1730  & Meds
What she ate:  1/3 a 3 oz bag "lite" microwave popcorn
approx 8 oz. Marie Callendar's Chicken Pot Pie Soup with added canned chicken breast, peas, green onions, 1/2 tsp curry powder (standard chain grocery type) and 1/4 tsp cinnamon

4 oz slice of lean, sugar cured ham
dinner salad with mixed greens, Bermuda onions, radishes, carrots, green pepper, Parmesan cheese, 4 chopped green pimiento stuffed olives and a few Nachos White Cheddar Doritos crumbled on top with approx 2 Tbl home made Buttermilk Ranch dressing
Med/Dose Administration Explanation
100% Aloe Vera gel/1 oz just before meal helps increase the cells' sensitivity to insulin when used with glipizide
36 mg Iron Protein Succinylate 2 18 mg tabs with meal to pull her out of what I hope is her temporarily severely anemic state

vitamin E/400 IU with meal given for anti-coagulant properties
garlic/1250 mg with meal given for anti-coagulant properties
calcium-vitamin D/500-200 mg with meal believed to be an osteoporosis preventative
1 Tbl Phillip's Milk of Magnesia immediately after meal with 8 oz water between an antacid and a laxative dose, to ensure smooth bowel movements

I'm genuinely surprised at her blood sugar reading. I wonder if the mix of spices in the curry powder helps increase the cells sensitivity to insulin.
Her blood pressure is back to its normal "not exercising" readings. Which, for the time being, is good.

1 Tbl Phillip's Milk of Magnesia just after meal with 8 oz water a little more than an antacid dose, a bit less than a laxative dose, to keep her stools soft

Late start, I know, my fault explained one of today's Mom & Me posts. Everything else was normal.
BM today just after bathing and before (which was one of two breakfast hold-ups today). Although she complained of "having trouble" moving her bowels, so I had her stand up and gave her a stimulating wipe, she didn't actually have any trouble, and I'm not sure she needed the wipe. The last recorded BM was on the 23rd, but I know she's had one since then...I just forgot to record it and don't remember exactly which day it was.

vitamin C/500 mg 1/2 1000 mg tab with iron supplement helps the body metabolize iron

Lunch stats are normal. Both of us napped the afternoon away; "dinner" will probably be 3 or so hours but couldn't be now because it's too early for a second dose of her serious meds, so a light lunch seemed like a good idea.

Med/Dose Administration Explanation

36 mg Iron Protein Succinylate 2 18 mg tabs with meal to pull her out of what I hope is her temporarily severely anemic state

vitamin E/400 IU with meal given for anti-coagulant properties
garlic/1250 mg with meal given for anti-coagulant properties
calcium-vitamin D/500-200 mg with meal believed to be an osteoporosis preventative
1 Tbl Phillip's Milk of Magnesia about an hour before going to bed, w/ 8 oz water mid range dose to keep her shit from rocking up

Because dinner was so close to "lunch" (I actually had to hold her off an hour...she was hungry but I couldn't give her meds, which need to be taken with food, until between 2030 and 2100) I almost didn't take her blood sugar because I was thinking it wouldn't show much difference from her level at "lunch", but I decided it would be interesting to see how her blood sugar measured at a time that would normally be between meals. I wasn't surprised at the reading.
Her blood pressure looks so good I almost cut her lisinopril dosage in half, but decided to give it to her anyway. 2.5 mg is the lowest "legal" dose. I don't think it'll hurt her. Just out of curiosity, I may take her blood pressure sometime tomorrow morning when she's relaxed...probably not before breakfast.

Just a notation:

The blood sugar monitor is measuring time, at the moment, at 5 minutes behind our regular clock, which is set according to our cable company time.
The blood pressure monitor is right on the money.

Yes, 195 is a little too high for comfortable consideration for me, too. I'm wondering, now, if it's pushing it to do two Just Desserts nights in a row...or, if the combination of tomatoes and flour in the tomato sausage biscuit pie was a bit much. I vaguely remember, now, that on the nights when we've had tomato sausage biscuit pie before, in the morning her blood sugar was elevated. Well, tomorrow we'll play it straight, plenty of fiber and flavor, as few refined carbohydrates as possible. I'm not terribly worried, though, about the effects of the cheesecake and sauce. I think her meds will take care of her ability to handle that, but it's obvious I can't push sugar every day with her.
Her blood pressure looks good, though. I think I'm on the right track as far as cutting back on readings. It's easy to take her blood pressure, now that we are both relaxed about the process and its lack of frequency.
