Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1123
    Reading:  107
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1136
    BP:  134/63
    Pulse:  55

As usual, I'll keep an eye on her blood pressure.

Lunch
Blood Glucose:
    Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1736
    BP:  149/67
    Pulse:  58

Yes, she received her "third" dose of 2.5 mg lisinopril at lunch, along with a banana, 6 pimiento stuffed green olives and 11.5 oz V-8 juice.
Although she's been having this bout of high (for her) blood pressure, she is not exhibiting any signs of CHF.

Non-stat BM Dinner
I can't remember why I didn't take dinner stats. Dinner occurred, though, at our usual late day time: We had some of the leftover baked ham, one piece corn on the cob and split the piece of apple pie that was left.
Her bowel movement occurred at 2015, just before dinner: Good, although disappointing volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
Because I'm concerned that she's backing up, I gave her a two tablespoon dose of Phillip's Milk of Magnesia before she retired.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1225
    Reading:  101
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1228
    BP:  133/59
    Pulse:  54

Blood sugar looks good. Blood pressure's a little high. I'm not sure why but I think, despite what seem to be regular bowel movements, since those movements have been bm-lites, she may be backing up. She's not swelling unusually in her legs and belly so we'll see what develops.

Non-stat Lunch and Dinner
For lunch she had 8 oz. yoghurt, a banana and 11.5 oz V-8 juice.
For dinner we finished the Costco Chicken Pot Pie.
    No extra meds.

BM Breakfast Stats - All Non-stats:

Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1000
    Reading:  94
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1015
    BP:  130/62
    Pulse:  56

I have been forgetting to mention that the last two days, while we've had company, instead of toast for breakfast we've been having pumpkin raisin walnut bread. Since I haven't been taking stats throughout the day I have no idea how this has been affecting her blood glucose.
Although it may seem that I should be worried about a 130 systolic, her diastolic tells me that I didn't wait long enough after she shuffled into the bathroom and seated herself on the toilet to await her bath to take her resting BP. She was excited, too, to get out and mix with company, which has to be factored in.
Company left around noon. She spent spent a fair amount of time recuperating from the visit in bed. Lunch was light...a banana was all she wanted. Because of this we ate dinner relatively early for us, around 1900. We had kosher chili polish sausages on buns with lots of chopped green onions and a sprinkling of grated yellow cheddar sharp cheese. She retired early, at 2130, but was up and down several times after this until midnight, thinking of things about the visit she wanted to disucss, so I'm considering that she actually went to bed at midnight.
Her Bowel Movement occurred after awakening from her nap at 1630, just previous to lunch: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up. Since she hasn't eliminated much in the last few days, quick company always throws a monkey wrench into her normal elimination schedule and her lower belly was clearly a bit bloated, last night before she retired I gave her one Colace tablet to ensure that her bowels clean themselves out tomorrow.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1250
    Reading:  118
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1254
    BP:  125/64
    Pulse:  56

Although Mom did awaken late this morning, she didn't awaken as late as the numbers show. Because of the hullabaloo accompanying company, I forgot to take her stats until just before I served her pills, which was moments before I served her breakfast.
I'm not sure how many more stats I'll be working in, today, because of company. I know she'll eat well and I'm not worried about whether I manage to survey her numbers as usual. She'll also be in an excellent mood all day because she loves family visitors. So, whether or not I stat her, I'm sure she'll do fine.

Non-stat Rest of the Day
The day was too busy for stats. It was alsmot too busy for pills at dinner...thank the gods I didn't forget those.
Mom ate well. Not overly so. Lunch lasted throughout the day from breakfast to dinner and consisted of green olives, a half of a vegan ginger-molasses cookie, a banana and 8 oz yoghurt. Dinner, which occurred at about 2000, was a luscious spread of vegetarian delights that MPS and I picked up at a local vegetarian deli: Kung Pao Tofu; Vegetarian Garden Lasagna; Oven roasted winter vegetables; Artichoke salad (which we worked into a full-service salad); spinach pies; supplemented with corn on the cob.
Although we had dessert handy, no one wanted it. These last couple of days, in fact, have been surprisingly free of worrisome foods. Her stats should look good tomorrow.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1133
    Reading:  127
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1143
    BP:  162/74
    Pulse:  58

I'm not sure why her BP is so high on both measures but as a precaution I administered two 2.5 mg lisinopril to her this morning at breakfast. Company will be arriving today for two days and I didn't want to take any chances, since I know her excitement level will soar as soon as they arrive.
I know why her glucose is unusually high for her morning reading: Her body is still enjoying the apple pie, ice cream and caramel sauce she had last night.

Lunch
In a sense, lunch was practically non-existent. She ate a banana somewhere through the afternoon and munched out on several olives about two hours before dinner but she, and all of us, were much too busy to worry about formal eating of a lunch, today. She's very lively today and took a less-than-an-hour nap so I'm not worries. I figure that this will give her a chance to work off the apple pie.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2022
    Reading:  86
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  2022
    BP:  152/75
    Pulse:  56

Although I don't recall company ever having this effect on her blood pressure I'm also not surprised. She's been animated all day and we were in the middle of watching a very involving movie when I put the player on pause and took her stats. I also gave her two 2.5 mg lisinopril for dinner, so her total today has been four lisinopril, a total of 10 mg, which is in no way dangerous to her.
For dinner we had Costco chicken pot pie. No dessert. No one wanted any. Everyone ate heartily, including Mom.
My guess is that her blood sugar will probably soar tomorrow, as well, as she has already talked, this evening, about the possibility of having apple pie for lunch. As well, MPS and I will be going to New Frontiers in the morning to buy some kind of breakfast bread, which will no doubt be sweet with fruit, at least.
During visiting events, as you may know if you're a regular reader, I don't worry to much about either of her stats running high, as she is usually in high gear anyway and the sociality does her immense good, emotionally, socially and physically.

Today's Stats:

BM Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1301
    Reading:  82
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1306
    BP:  131/64
    Pulse:  55

I'm not sure why we're having this run of high systolics in the morning. Could be I'm not giving her enough time to relax on the toilet before I take it. I'll check her out later, at lunch probably.
Her bowel movement occurred at 1330: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.

Lunch
Blood Glucose:
    Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1728
    BP:  123/58
    Pulse:  58

Well, everything looks fine. Again, I'm not going to worry, I'll just be observant.
Lunch was typical: yoghurt, V-8 juice and 6 pimiento stuffed green olives.

Non-stat Dinner
I can't remember why I didn't take stats but I'm figuring it's because I got this inspiration for dinner and had to go out and purchase it. Apple pie (a good one) with Baskin Robbin's French Vanilla Ice Cream and caramel sauce. Don't ask me why I felt the need for apple pie. I normally hate apple pie. But that's what I wanted last night. My mother didn't argue (of course not; applie pie is one of her favorite things). So, I quickly called Coco's, the only place around here that's known for selling halfway decent pies at 1900 at night. They had one Dutch Apple left. I left to get it, picked up the ice cream and caramel sauce on the way back, and we each had an 8th of a piece of the pie with about 3/4's cup ice cream and a couple tablespoons of caramel sauce; at about 2020. We were both thoroughly satisfied.
I won't have to worry about the disposition of the left over pie today. MPS and MPNC are dropping in on us for a couple of days. Apple pie is MPS's favorite. They'll polish it off in no time.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1253
    Reading:  96
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1314
    BP:  137/68
    Pulse:  56

Although her systolic is a little high, I'm not worried. I'll keep an eye on it today.

Lunch
Blood Glucose:
    Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1725
    BP:  115/57
    Pulse:  64

Looks good. Seems I was right about not worrying about her high systolic this morning.
Lunch was light: Yoghurt, V-8 juice, 6 pimiento stuff olives and a slice of hearty home made 100% whole wheat bread slathered with butter.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1949
    Reading:  176
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1948
    BP:  124/60
    Pulse:  58

The high BG is a piece of hearty, home made 100% whole wheat bread she had with her lunch. Otherwise, everything looks good.
For dinner I took some left over pork roast, chunked it, added chopped carrots, onions and asparagus tips and stir-fried everything in my own brand of Hoisin sauce; served over white rice.
