Today was a total No Stat day.

Mom awoke late, which I allowed. Since I'm writing this the day after the date posted I can't remember exactly how late she awoke, it was some time after noon but we got in two meals, a late dessert and she took only a very short nap, less than an hour, in the early evening.
Breakfast, again, involved polish sausage. She really likes that with her egg.
Dinner was an interesting concoction that used up some frozen and refrigerated leftovers: I took the last of the Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild Rice amalgam (yes, this is the third time we've used this batch; we finished it off tonight), stir fried it with the rest of the polish sausage, one head of very lightly steamed broccoli and mixed it with refreshed Hollandaise sauce. Delicious! Then, a couple hours later, about an hour before she retired she remembered the Rocky Road ice cream and I gave her a bowl full.
She retired close to midnight. Although her day began late, she got almost 12 hours of uptime in.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1305
    Reading:  101
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1256
    BP:  118/65
    Pulse:  57

Breakfast meat this morning was polish sausage. For her bread she got a pumpkin cranberry muffin.

BM Non-stat Lunch
Because she awoke so late (it rained today) she didn't take much of a nap and didn't "go down" until late. When she awoke, around 1730, she had a pretty good lunch: 11.5 oz V-8 juice, six pimiento stuffed olives and 8 oz non-fat, artificially sweetened yoghurt.
Her Bowel Movement occurred about an hour before she laid down, at 1510: Fair volume, excellent consistency, very easy elimination, very easy clean-up.

Dinner
I just didn't have the heart, this evening, to take stats. It's been a pretty low down day for Mom, physically, because of the rain and the low, but her spirit has been good. We spent the evening watching movies. Around 2100 she mentioned she was "a little hungry, not much". I suggested popcorn to go with our second movie. She ate a 3.5 ounce bag "with extra butter, please". About 2230 she wanted "something sweet". I don't know why, maybe it was the weather; as you know I rarely stock our freezer with ice cream. But I anticipated her request at the grocery this afternoon and picked up one of her favorite ice creams, Rocky Road. I gave her a bowl full. "That hit the spot," she said.

Today's Stats:

Blood Glucose:

Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1105
    BP:  115/59
    Pulse:  59

This morning's meat was bulk breakfast sausage scrambled into her egg.

Non-stat Lunch
She had only V-8 juice for lunch, today, in part because she took a loooong nap and "lunch" occurred very close to dinner, just two hours previous. Plus, she wasn't hungry when she awoke from her nap but figured she'd be hungry for dinner "in an hour or two" from the time she awoke.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1913
    Reading:  91
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1902
    BP:  139/62
    Pulse:  53

For dinner I made hamburgers on onion buns with dill pickle relish, cheddar cheese and thick slabs of onion.

Today's Stats:

BM Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1149
    Reading:  133
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1150
    BP:  113/62
    Pulse:  64

This morning the breakfast meat was home corned beef.
Her Bowel Movement occurred during bathing this morning: Very good volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.

Non-stat Lunch
Again, an exceedingly light lunch: just about 3/4 cup cottage cheese and about 1/2 cup MCS's Bread & Butter pickles.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1949
    Reading:  81
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1940
    BP:  137/60
    Pulse:  57

Oh well. I guess whatever her BP is, it is, at night. I'm not going to worry about it anymore, I'm just going to watch it for a week or so and, if necessary, do what the doctor suggested and up her to 10 mg lisinopril twice a day.
For dinner she had left over pizza from a couple of nights ago, warmed and sprinkled with fresh grated parmesan cheese. She also had a cup of chocolate mint cocoa about two hours before dinner.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1142
    Reading:  110
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1143
    BP:  135/60
    Pulse:  57

Hmmm...still no change in her morning pressure. Oh well. We'll see how things develop.
One change in breakfast: We've run out of bacon so I'm substituting different meats. Today is was home corned beef with her egg and toast.

BM Non-stat Lunch
She had a very light lunch today, just some cottage cheese & V-8 juice. She didn't take a nap today, which is unusual, but didn't want one. I expect we'll be having dinner fairly early.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1330: Fair volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1834
    Reading:  90
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1832
    BP:  120/59
    Pulse:  56

Ahh, good. Her BP is doing better.
For dinner she had Costco chicken pot pie with a dollop of sour cream to cut the salty taste.

Today's Stats:

BM Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1017
    Reading:  110
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1028
    BP:  136/66
    Pulse:  59

Today is the first day of splitting her 10 mg lisinopril tablet in two and giving her 5 mg at breakfast and 5 at dinner.
Her Bowel Movement occurred while we were bathing her: Poor volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.

Non-stat Lunch
For lunch she had 8 oz non-fat artificially sweetened yoghurt and 6 pimiento stuffed olives.
As a reminder, I'm not taking stats anymore at lunch. Lunch, however, occurred at around 1430.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1719
    Reading:  79
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1716
    BP:  137/60
    Pulse:  55

Well, no obvious change in blood pressure in the evening yet, but there should be a change in the morning pressure.
For dinner we had take-out pizza from our favorite local pizza parlor: Medium crust, heavy sauce, light on the cheese with onion, pepperoni, green peppers, green olives and sundried tomatoes.

Today's Stats:

Breakfast
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1037
    Reading:  133
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1036
    BP:  134/64
    Pulse:  56

I'm a little concerned about her high systolic this morning. If this continues, I'll probably split the 10 mg lisinopril in half and give her 5 mg at breakfast and dinner, to even her blood pressure out.

Lunch
Blood Glucose:
    Not taken
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1510
    BP:  112/60
    Pulse:  59

For lunch she had 11.5 oz V-8 juice, about 3/4 cup small curd 4% fat cottage cheese and about 1/2 but MCS's Bread & Butter pickles.
I'm thinking that I'll stop taking her BP at lunch, although I'll continue to record what she eats.

Dinner
Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1820
    Reading:  106
Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1819
    BP:  130/60
    Pulse:  65

Yes, I think as of tomorrow I'll start splitting her dose of lisinopril.
For dinner tonight she had Nachoes made with Tostitos Scoops, canned hot chili with beans with added Southwestern Fire spice, lots of chopped green onions, sprinkled with grated Sharp yellow cheddar.
