    Still moving a little slow, today. I gave her an extra hour of sleep, in part because she was, again, up and down last night; in part because, at 1230, she was dreaming, sleeping deeply and peacefully, and I didn't want a repeat of yesterday, when she fought getting up all day long.
    Breakfast: Normal, with the substitution of Panettone for toast.
    Lunch: Coffee and peanuts.
    Dinner: BLT&B(ermuda)O(onion) sandwiches on cracked wheat sourdough with lightly salted, very lightly fried (no greasy feel) potato chips and a dollop of sour cream flavored with garlic powder and a little powdered ranch dressing mix (no sugar) as a dip for the chips.

    This is going to be a slow, stiff day for Mom. I was hoping for a third day of walkering, but it took 45 minutes of talking and playing with cats on the floor and cajoling to coax her hand over the bed for her BG reading...Another half hour or so to get her into the bathroom and take her BP. So, I guess, we're going to take it easy today.
    Normal breakfast, with substitution of Panettone for toast.
    Back to completely normal lunch; peanuts instead of Macadamia nuts; V-8 juice with 1 tsp curry powder.
    Dinner: Cobb salad, usual ingredients, chicken as meat.
    Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1915: Fairly good volume; soft consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
    Retired at 0000, 10/21/06. Lights out at 0030.

One Quarter Stat Day:

P.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2233
    Reading:  145
P.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:Not taken

    Most of this day, and excuses for my poor performance throughout, is covered in a related post over at the main journal.
    Breakfast: Normal (although not at a normal time).
    Lunch: Since we'd run out of peanuts and I have yet to replenish our supply of 1 oz bags at Costco, I rummaged through our cupboard and discovered an unopened can of Macadamia nuts from last year. Mom was thrilled with the small plate of them I produced for her lunch. No V-8 juice, since I had already anticipated dinner; just coffee.
    Dinner: A tomato based marinara sauce loaded with browned, defatted ground beef and bulk sausage; sauteed Bermuda onion, green pepper, celery, chopped, pimiento stuffed green olives, sundried tomatoes and fresh garlic; seasoned liberally with basil and an Herbes de Provence herb mix; served over a little (Mom isn't that fond of pasta) butterfly pasta, liberally sprinkled with freshly grated Parmesan; accompanied by grilled garlic (no cheese) toast.
    She retired at 0045, 10/17/06. So did I, which is unusual for me to retire at the same time she does. Thus, I'm not sure when her light went out. The last time I remember looking at the clock it was 0100 and her light was still blazing. I'm guessing she was up until at least 0115, since she tends to turn her light out directly on the hour or quarter hour.

BM Odd Stat Day:

Lunch Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1710
    Reading:  114
Lunch Blood Pressure:
    Time:Not taken

    That's right, folks, I didn't get around to taking any stats at all until her lunch time, and then only because at breakfast, which had been well before noon (this was an unusual day; she awoke, on her own, at 1030, ready to go), I'd given her another scone instead of her usual low fiber, cinnamon sprinkled toast. I was blown away at her blood sugar reading. I was expecting it to be pushing 200 again. The almost normal reading could have been due to several factors:
  • Sleeping much less than 12 hours;
  • Being very alert, fairly active (although no walkering sessions; she was just up and down and moving around a lot;
  • Very good hydration all day long;
  • Short nap; she was only down an hour.
.
    Lunch: Normal.
    Dinner: Odd, really. I was interested in using up the left over rice and vegetables with some of the left over roasted chicken and vegetables, mixing them together with some of the left over Hollandaise sauce. This is, actually, what I ate. She was involved in watching horror movies all evening and decided all she wanted was popcorn. I shrugged my shoulders and thought, Well, why not!?! So, she ate popcorn, two 3.5 ounce bags of it, during the evening.
    Her Bowel Movement occurred immediately after her nap, at 1515: Good volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
    I should mention, somehow, I forgot to give her a third iron capsule this evening. I noticed it on her bed stand "tomorrow morning".
    She retired, thoroughly satisfied and horrified, at 0030, 10/16/06. Her light went out at 0100, straight up.
